Hello Yellow Day
Friday 10th October was World Mental Health Day, and OSCA joined in on Hello Yellow Day by asking staff and students to wear a yellow top or accessory to raise awareness for the cause. We also asked for a £1 donation, which would all be donated to Young Minds charity.
It was brilliant to see OSCA turn yellow for the day, as many of our student and staff got involved. On the lead up to the day, every student had the opportunity to contribute to our Hello Yellow display by answering the question “What would you say to show compassion to a friend who is struggling?”. We are so proud of their responses, as it shows how caring our OSCA community is. Thank you to everyone for taking part in this activity!
We also held a bake sale during brunch, which was a huge success! We were able to raise almost £100 from this alone – thank you to those who donated! We would also like to thank our staff members and their families for baking the cakes for us.
Our OSCA Connect team went above and beyond, as they were out and about in the academy putting smiles on everyone’s faces wearing duck costumes! Not only this, but they were also wearing inspiring mental health quotes for others to read when they saw them. Well done to the team!
So far, we have raised a total of £342.64 for Young Minds charity. We would like to say a huge thank you to those who donated and got involved!
