Remote Learning

Remote Education Provision: Information for Parents and Carers

In accordance with statutory guidance, the Department for Education (DfE) requires schools to provide information regarding their remote education provision. This information is intended to offer clarity and transparency to students, parents, and carers about what to expect should the academy be required to close, either partially or fully.

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home

In the event of a partial or full closure, the academy is committed to ensuring continuity of education for all students. Staff will work to maintain high-quality teaching and learning through appropriate remote education arrangements.

Short-Term Closures

In the case of a short-term closure (1–3 days), for example due to adverse weather conditions or issues with the school’s facilities (such as heating or plumbing), remote learning will be provided in core subjects via Microsoft Teams. During these short-term closures, there will be no live lessons.

Students and parents/carers will be informed via email, which will include links to the relevant folders on Microsoft Teams where the work can be accessed.

Longer-Term Closures

In the event of a longer-term closure, the academy will deliver a combination of live online lessons (via Microsoft Teams) and blended learning resources across all subjects. Staff will continue to provide regular support and guidance to students remotely to ensure engagement and progress in learning.
