Sports Day 2018

OSCA celebrated is annual Sports Fest on Friday 22nd June at Tipton Sports Academy.

The day kicked off OSCAs celebration of National school sports week which is an annual celebration of PE and Sport in education which is running from 25th June to 29th June where activities are being offered to students and staff throughout the week.

300 Students from years 7 to 10 attended the day and participated in a traditional sports day which was in the format of a house competition and a range of sports activities that were offered to encourage and promote physical activity as an enjoyable way of developing important life skills like resilience, integrity, communication, collaboration that have been studied through the PE curriculum during lesson time. Students were also shown the importance of mental well-being through the use of physical activity and were offered both recreational and competitive elements for the day.

The weather was very much on our side and all events throughout the day went seamlessly with the day, regarded as the biggest yet, being deemed a huge success by all involved. A particular mention has to go to the students who were complimented on their exemplary behaviour in all areas of the leisure centre and to all of the staff who supported both at trackside and in the sports areas with students throughout the day... we look forward to sports fest 2019.
