A warm welcome

Welcome to the Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy website.

At OSCA, our mission is simple. We believe that education is about opening doors for our students, and keeping them open. By nurturing young minds, by instilling respect for oneself and for others, and by building confidence, we can empower our students so that they are able to make informed choices.

OSCA is certainly an Academy on the up, and the 2019/20 academic year has been full of achievements!

COVID 19 Update: 17.1.22

As of Monday 17th January 2022, the 10-day self-isolation period for people who test positive has been reduced to 5 days in most circumstances, unless you cannot test for any reason, in which case it remains 10 days.

If your child tests positive for COVID 19 on an LFT home test or PCR test please inform Ms Maiden via email becky.maiden@ormistonsandwell.org.uk .While your child has symptoms and is awaiting a PCR result, they must self-isolate. Please do not send your child into school until you have notified Ms Maiden via email of a negative PCR result, a negative LFT prior to days 5 and 6, does not release your child from self-isolation.

Your child may now take home LFT tests on day 5 and day 6 of their self-isolation period. For example, if your child tests positive on a Saturday, that would be considered day 0. They could then take tests on the morning of Thursday (day 5) and 24 hours later, on Friday morning (day 6). If they test negative on both days and do not have a temperature, they return to school on the Friday. Please inform Ms Maiden becky.maiden@ormistonsandwell.org.uk on day 6, if both LFT tests are negative before sending your child to school. If your child records a positive LFT on one of these days, to reduce their isolation they must test negative on 2 consecutive days.
