BBCs Radio 2 500 Words Short Story Competition!

Do you love writing?
Are you aged between 10 and 13 on the 16th June 2017?

Enter this year’s BBC Radio 2 500 Words short story competition!
In 2016, an amazing 123,000 children took part. To enter, write an original fictional story on any subject or theme in 500 words or fewer. The stories will be judged on creative use of language.

Winners will have their short story read live on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 by superstar celebrities; their stories to be heard by around 10 million Radio 2 listeners!
The top fifty short-listed entrants will receive a pair of tickets to the final, which this year is to be held at the Tower of London. The top prize winner will receive Chris Evans’ height in books and 500 books for their school!

Please see Mrs Rixson for further details.

The closing date is 7.00pm sharp on Thursday 23rd February, so start writing!

Students in years 7, 8 and 9 have continued with the Renaissance Accelerated Reader
Programme this year, earning points by passing fun online book quizzes.
Big congratulations go out to Ahmad (V8), Vardah (V3) and Imraj (P3) who were our top readers for the 2016 Autumn term.
They will each receive a £25.00 book token.
